At Elian’s British School of La Nucía our priority is for each of our students to acquire the necessary skills to flourish in an international environment. We achieve this not only through our bilingual education (English and Spanish), but also through our exchange projects.

International exchanges: a key element of a school with an international perspective

At our school, students in Secondary and Sixth Form (ESO and Bachillerato in Spanish education) can come into direct contact with English culture through international exchange programmes. In the course of these exchanges, which can vary in length, students also have the opportunity to practise and perfect their use of the English language.

During these exchange programmes, students spend time studying as a member of classes at a school where English is the sole teaching language and means of communication.

What are the benefits of the student exchange experience?

Just as our students can broaden their horizons by learning in a foreign country, students from other parts of the world gain the same advantages when they come to our school, in addition to the innovative and high quality education we provide here.

Visits from outside pupils are likewise beneficial for our existing students. As well as the enlightening experience of meeting people from other cultures, our students also develop their social skills by offering solidarity and companionship to help visiting students integrate.

For our part, we encourage our existing students to be friendly hosts and help guests with whatever they need. Past experience has shown that solid friendships are often forged between our students and visiting students,  many of which last to this day.
